If the members decide to donate the property and facilities to the City the Club Executive (President, Vice President and Treasurer) will remain in place to manage the transition to the City. They will also ensure that any outstanding issues and club liabilities are addressed.
YES, @wrtj our club is legally required to get rid of (“dispose”) of ALL of our assets before we can vote to dissolve our club (Societies Act, s. 126). UNTIL the SFGC has given each of the 3 clubs what President Bob calls the “seed money”, we CANNOT legally vote to dissolve the SFGC, and any vote re that in today’s meeting is illegal and so won’t count.
(As confirmed by B.C.‘s Societies Registry, any action which doesn’t comply with the Societies Act is illegal, since the Societies Act is the law.)
(I’ve edited this reply, to make it a lot shorter. Sorry, peeps! Owing to my past experience writing legal document, I tend to write answers to questions re law as if I’m writing a legal document; whoops! ;-P )
Also, President Bob, how do we know that the Executive will act as you say you will? What proof are you providing to us that you have never told us one thing and done another, and/or that you have never told us anything not 100% true?
